CORAL SPRINGS MAYOR
SKIP CAMPBELL
I’m proud to say that last
month, we were the National
Finalist for the 2016 MetLife
Foundation/Generations United
America’s Best Intergenerational
Communities Awards. This
means that our community
shows promising potential
for becoming a place where
members of every generation
thrive and want to live.
In Coral Springs, we are all about protecting our
environment, and Broward County has recognized several
recent projects. The City was awarded the NatureScape
Broward Emerald Award, recognizing the City’s native plant
species, beautification, and environment-friendly irrigation
systems at the ArtWalk and Fire Station 71.
Coral Springs also embraces different faiths, and our
National Day of Prayer celebration highlights the strength in
diversity found in our community. Every house of worship in
Coral Springs and adjoining cities are invited to participate
as we come together to pray. The event is scheduled for
Thursday, May 5th, at 7pm at the Coral Springs Charter
School. There is no cost to attend. The Charter School is
located at 3205 N. University Drive. For more information,
call 954-344-1005.
If you’re a fan of our Shredathon events, you won’t want
to miss it this month. It will be held at the Sportsplex on
Saturday, May 21st, from 9am to 11am. Please note that
there is a limit of three boxes per vehicle. In the event
of inclement weather, the event will be canceled and
not rescheduled; however, more shredding events will
be planned for later in 2016. The Sportsplex is located
at 2575 Sportsplex Drive. For more information, call
954-344-1833.
This is the last month of the Farmers’ Market at the ArtWalk.
