Coral Springs a Top<br />
Intergenerational Community<br />
The City of Coral Springs has been named the 2016<br />
National Finalist for the America’s Best Intergenerational<br />
Communities Awards sponsored by the MetLife Foundation<br />
and Generations United. Since 2010, the awards program<br />
has recognized 18 innovative communities across America<br />
that are leading the way by incorporating intergenerational<br />
solutions that engage the wisdom and vitality of all generations.<br />
“We congratulate the City of Coral Springs on being the<br />
National Finalist. Their community shows promising potential<br />
for becoming a place where members of every generation<br />
thrive and want to live,” noted Donna Butts, executive director<br />
of Generations United. The winning communities are City<br />
of Milwaukee, Wis., and the Eastman Community Association<br />
in Grantham, N.H. A blue-ribbon panel of judges selected the<br />
winners from a host of applicants from across the country.<br />
Parkland was a winner in 2014.<br />

Contract Awarded for Coral Springs<br />
Municipal Complex<br />
The Coral Springs City Commission has taken another<br />
step toward the creation of a new Municipal Complex and<br />
revitalization of the City’s Downtown. Boca Raton-based<br />
Kaufman Lynn Construction was awarded the contract to<br />
build the 74,000-square-foot City Hall and a 607-space<br />
parking garage at the corner of Northwest 94th Avenue and<br />
Sample Road. The official groundbreaking will be in early<br />
May, with occupancy of City Hall next year. “It’s exciting to<br />
be making progress toward this long-awaited goal,” Mayor<br />
Skip Campbell said. “We fully expect the construction of this<br />
Municipal Complex to be a catalyst for redevelopment in the<br />
downtown area.”<br />
Join the Boy Scouts<br />
Calling all boys ages 11 to 18 of diverse abilities who want<br />
to learn to create new things, participate in outdoor activities,<br />
attend exciting field trips, make new friends, and much<br />
more. Boy Scout Troop 250 meets at Atlantis Academy<br />

The group welcomes new<br />
members. All you need is an<br />
interest in crafting. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each<br />
month. After the general meeting members always have a fun<br />
craft project for anyone who would like to join in. This month<br />
they’ll be making a heart-shaped pincushion from fabric. For<br />
