4. And what are your thoughts on the
discovery element of physical space,
building a journey for customers to
tell them a story.
Interaction and experience is key to
the success of any product or physical
space. Building a journey and a story to
follow helps with the understanding and
experience of the product or space – the
customer feels part of the story and
inclusion within the design offering –
this leads to a successful space that the
customer then feels comfortable within.
Discovery is part of life – everyone loves it
– it comes from childhood when everything
was a discovery. Visual, sensory Smells and
Tactiles are great!!
5. How influential do you see the
prototype store, the pop-up and
guerrilla stores? Is it important to
constantly experiment? In such a
rapidly changing industry, what
temporary architectural structures
can help transform space?
As answered in 1 and 2. Above – yes always
experiment as technology and surrounds
are rapidly changing about us. Push the
boundaries – customers love this! It is the
discovery element again! There are so many
materials available to designers now that
almost any temporary structure can be
achieved if you can imagine it. I believe the
next generation will be 3D-Printed Space
and Structures! Currently this year it is
proposed in the Netherlands to 3D Print a
bridge in-situ using a series of 3D printing
robots moving along the bridge structure as
they print the bridge span structure!
