Forcaseswheretherequiredtargetelementisnotthedefaultelement ofanotherrule,ATLoffersthe‘resolveTemp’construct,aso-calledhelper operation. Ittakesasourcemodelelementandareferencetoaspecific targetelementofthematchingruleasinputparameters.InListing7.2,for example,thisisdoneinthebindingofthebehaviourfeature.Inthiscases. behaviourStateevaluatestoaSimpleStatethatismatchedbyanotherrule withmultipletargetelements,ofwhichthe ‘b’targetelementisselected tobindtothatfeature. Helpersaretypicallydefinedinthecontextofametamodelelementand effectivelyaddafeatureoroperationtoinstancesofthatelement(cf. the useofOCLdefinitionconstraintsinListing7.1onpage144).Alternatively, ahelpercanbedefinedwithoutanycontext. Then,thedefaultcontextof thecompletetransformationmodule,representedbythe thisModuleelement,applies. The resolveTemphelperisalsodefinedinthisdefaultcontext. 7.8.2 BasicTargetModelElements SimpleTaskandBehaviour SimpleTaskscorrespondtomanufacturingactivities,andBehaviourscorrespondtotypesofmanufacturingactivitiesinSMC systems. Therefore,tocreateSimpleTasksandBehavioursinthetarget modelweneedtoidentifyActionscorrespondingtomanufacturingactivitiesinthesourcemodel.AccordingtotheUMLSMCprofile,anActionthatcorrespondstoamanufacturingactivityhasnostereotypeandisexecutedasaStateentryAction(see C3inListing7.1onpage144). ForeverysuchAction,aSimple- Taskneedstobecreated. ThisisspecifiedbytheruleinListing7.3on thenextpage.Itcontainsaguardthatusesthe behaviourStateshelperto onlymatchSimpleStatesthatmaptoaBehaviour.Notethatinthespecification,wedonotmapActionstoSimpleTasks,butinsteadwemaptheSimpleStatesinwhichtheyareexecutedtoSimpleTasks.ThisdoesnotaffectourmigrationresultssinceActionscorrespondingtoSimpleTasksare alwaysStateentryActions(byconstraintC3oftheSMCprofile).
