Terms and Conditions:<br />
a) For a Polish co-producer or service provider with a European<br />
feature film, the maximum subsidy available is 1.5 million<br />
PLN (≈390,000 EUR);<br />
b) For a Polish co-producer or service provider with a<br />
non-European feature film, the maximum subsidy available is<br />
1.2 million PLN (311,000 EUR).<br />
A non-European film is a project in which the main<br />
producer is based in a non-EU and non-EEA country. In<br />
certain cases, following additional expert guidance, the<br />
General Director of the Polish Film Institute may increase<br />
funding by up to 90% of the limits mentioned in points a and<br />
b, however the subsidy cannot exceed 30% of the total film<br />
budget.<br />

pRoDuCtion of films With hiGh BoX-offiCe potentiAl<br />
<strong>2009</strong> quota: 10.0 million pln (≈2.6 million euR)<br />
Programme aimed at supporting the production of<br />
feature and animated films for the mass audience and<br />
intended for cinema release. Funding is available in the form<br />
of a loan for full length feature and animated projects in<br />
which the script, casting and involvement of Polish and/or<br />
international co-producers suggest a high potential for<br />
substantial attendance and revenue. Preference is given to<br />
children’s and family-oriented films.<br />
Terms and Conditions:<br />
For feature and animated films intended primarily for<br />
cinema release, maximum funding is set at 50% of the<br />
budget and 4 million PLN (≈1.03 million EUR).<br />
Some cases may be eligible for a subsidy exceeding the<br />
above limits by up to 50%. International co-productions may<br />
receive subsidies increased by up to 35%, however this<br />
condition does not apply to low budget productions. The<br />
total amount of funding from the Polish Film Institute cannot<br />
exceed the applicable percentage limit, even in the case of<br />
increased subsidies. For co-productions these limits apply to<br />
the total amount of financial participation of the Polish<br />
co-producer.<br />

3. film education and Dissemination of film Culture<br />
<strong>2009</strong> quota: 10 million pln (≈2.6 million euR)<br />
Programme aimed at developing film education of<br />
young audiences, supporting major festivals in <strong>Poland</strong>, as<br />
well as small-scale local film events, exhibitions,<br />
competitions and any activity that helps enhance the cinema<br />
culture. These include film conferences, seminars,<br />
publication of film books and magazines, as well as support<br />
for the digitization and preservation of film archives and<br />
documentation for public access.<br />
4. promotion of polish film Abroad<br />
<strong>2009</strong> quota: 5 million pln (≈1.3 million euR)<br />
Programme aimed at presenting and promoting Polish<br />
films and filmmakers abroad through participation in major<br />
international festivals, publication of books, magazines and<br />
information brochures. This programme also covers grants<br />
for Polish filmmakers to participate in international film<br />
events abroad, such as film festivals, competitions or<br />
seminars.<br />
5. Development of Cinema infrastructure<br />
and film Distribution<br />
<strong>2009</strong> quota: 8 million pln (≈2.08 million euR)<br />
Programme aimed at supporting arthouse cinemas and<br />
film discussion clubs through support for distribution and<br />
publicity of film classics, arthouse European and Polish films,<br />
as well as providing financial support to cinemas for<br />
infrastructure development (including the transition to<br />
digital cinema).<br />
6. Vocational training<br />
<strong>2009</strong> quota: 4 million pln (≈1.03 million euR)<br />
Programme aimed at supporting training programmes,<br />
seminars and workshops for film professionals, providing<br />
subsidies for student films and financing the participation of<br />
Polish filmmakers in courses and seminars to improve their<br />
