3/24/2017 "BloomNotes" 03 24 2017 Fourth Sunday in Lent services, clothing for job interviews,furniture, one way tickets home, transportation to appointments, phone and mail service, free notary and very importantly hot, nutritious meals six days a week. 588 Rosa Parks Road Bloomers have begun serving lunch each Monday at the new Well in the Desert facility at the Baptist Church on Rosa Parks in north Palm Springs. This week, 11 volunteers served 115 hot lunches at the Well in the Desert and distributed 60 sack lunches made by Bloom volunteers that morning. Bloomers Dick, Kay, Penny, Ron, Fred, Kathy, and Curtis. As many of us have said: "There, but for the grace of God, go I." This is a chance to follow in Christ's steps to serve the least of us. The meals we are serving are the only food some of our clients will have that day. If anyone is feeling led to begin a Tuesday lunch ministry at the Well, there is a need for volunteers. Containers need to have a lid that seals tightly, such as the clear plastic containers you sometimes get with lunchmeat. Thank you very much. Volunteers need to be at 588 Rosa Parks Rd. at 10:30 on Monday. Go out Indian Canyon, cross San Rafael, watch for Rosa Parks Rd on the left just past the ARCO gas station. If you get out past the town's edge and into the desert, you've gone too far! Click here for map to Well in the Desert Sandwich Mondays Ministry... (please note donation requests below) For over ten years members and friends of Bloom in the Desert Ministries have met every Monday morning at Well in the Desert's 181 North Indian Canyon facility. Under the direction of Jerry Brownlee, the facility manager, they make and pack sandwiches for Well in the Desert's meal distribution program. Bloomers make a big helpful difference. We meet at 9:00 A.M. and have been requested by Jerry to please arrive at 9:00 A full crew of Bloomers AM on Monday mornings, and not earlier. We have fun and help live out the mission and values of Bloom. Do you have any of these? Travel size shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothbrushes and razors... We are sorely in need and if you have them and have no need for them we would love to see you and invite you to bring them to The Well.
