Palace. Gilles Pélisson<br />

participated in this meeting<br />

with 10 young trainees<br />

currently on sandwich<br />

courses with Accor.<br />

• Accor has implemented a<br />

programme called<br />

“L’hôtel A la lettre” in<br />

France to fight against<br />

illiteracy following real<br />

situations observed in<br />

hotels. This training aims<br />

at increasing skills of<br />

each employee and<br />

strengthening trust<br />

between the teams.<br />

The training contents and<br />

tools have been validated<br />

by the French Hotel<br />

Training department in<br />

partnership with “ALCIA”<br />

(a French association<br />

fighting against illiteracy).<br />

These contents were<br />

defined thanks to<br />

documents used by<br />

employees every day.<br />

q Singapore<br />

An agreement has been<br />

signed between the<br />

Nanyang Technical school<br />

and Accor Hospitality. This<br />

agreement stipulates that<br />

each year thirty students<br />

will follow a six month<br />

programme in three Accor<br />

hotels in Singapore.<br />

Objectives: enable them to<br />

experience the three Accor<br />

brands in Singapore,<br />

Novotel, Mercure and ibis,<br />

and experience operations<br />

so that they acquire the<br />

skills required for the hotel<br />

professions.<br />

q Thailand<br />

In partnership with<br />

UNICEF and as part of<br />

the “Youth Career<br />

Development Program”<br />

(YCDP), programme to<br />

promote employment<br />

opportunities for<br />

youngsters, 10 permanent<br />

positions were offered to<br />

students having undergone<br />

5 months training in the<br />

country’s Accor hotels.<br />
