The Accor Hospitality<br />

teams of Hungary and<br />

Slovakia have launched a<br />

new programme for<br />

developing talents at the<br />

Academy Accor Hungary.<br />

The aim of this programme:<br />

train future managers for<br />

the Group. The participants<br />

were chosen via an<br />

evaluation process and<br />

individual interviews.<br />

The 18 month programme<br />

aims to develop their<br />

leadership, management,<br />

self-knowledge and<br />

communication skills… At<br />

the end of the programme,<br />

each participant writes a<br />

thesis and presents it to<br />

the company’s Executive<br />

Committee.<br />

q Italy<br />

A “Train the Trainer”<br />

session was held at<br />

Novotel Bologne to mark<br />

the official launch of the<br />

activities of the Academy<br />

Accor Italy which recently<br />

integrated the network of<br />

Accor Academies in the<br />

world.<br />

q Morocco<br />

• A lunch, prepared and<br />

served by the apprentices<br />

from the Marrakech and<br />

Agadir Apprenticeship<br />

Training Centres, was<br />

organised in the two<br />

towns’ Sofitel hotels in<br />

the presence of the hotel<br />

managers, heads of<br />

department and<br />

apprentice ship supervisors.<br />

This lunch is taken into<br />

account in the final exam<br />

which ends the<br />

apprentices’ training and<br />

prepares their professional<br />

integration. Since the<br />

launch of this project, 36<br />

apprentices from the first<br />

promotion have integrated<br />

Accor hotels in Morocco.<br />

The 104 graduates from<br />

this year received a<br />

diploma.<br />

• The Academy Accor<br />

Morocco have launched<br />

and distributed their 4th<br />

training catalogue among<br />

the country’s head quarters<br />

and hotels. It contains<br />

over 70 training courses<br />

all themes included:<br />

management and<br />

development of potential,<br />

customer relations, sales,<br />

marketing, maintenance,<br />

hygiene.<br />

q United Kingdom<br />

A presentation of the<br />

results and actions carried<br />

out in the “Management<br />

Development Programme”<br />

(MDP) was given to<br />

managers, Operations<br />

Managers, zone managers<br />

and GMs. The MDP is a<br />

training and career<br />

development programme<br />

implement by Accor<br />

Hospitality United<br />

Kingdom. Among other<br />

projects announced to<br />

increase sales: send the<br />

day’s menu to hotel<br />

customers by e-mail and<br />

encourage satisfied<br />

customers to leave<br />

comments on tourism and<br />

travel web sites. Since<br />

1997, 131 employees have<br />

participated in the<br />

programme, of which over<br />

half have become General<br />

Manager either locally or<br />

abroad.<br />
