Range of network LED
illuminators is expanded
Raytec has launched two new product lines, VARIO 2
IP and VARIO 2 PoE will provide purpose built
lighting solutions for network applications and sit
alongside the existing range of VARIO 2 illuminators.
Both new product lines feature Platinum Elite LED
technology from Raytec, reportedly delivering up to
200% more power, distances up to 500m from a
single LED panel and more light output.
VARIO 2 IP is a range of IP addressable network
illuminators that can be operated remotely via a user
friendly GUI or be integrated with third party
platforms or network devices to deliver an automatic
lighting response to different events or alarms.
VARIO2 PoE is a new range of illuminators that
can be powered from an existing network
infrastructure, without the need for an additional
PSU, minimising the cost and time of installation.
Western Digital has announced
the availability of the WD Purple
10TB HDD, the newest member of its highcapacity
hard drive line for surveillance
applications. According to the IHS Markit,
anticipated growth of 4K-compliant and highresolution
network cameras over the next few
years is driving higher demand for surveillanceclass
storage to support systems featuring these
technologies. With increased capacity the WD
Purple 10TB HDD is optimised for 24×7 video
surveillance systems and up to 64 highdefinition
(HD) cameras in home and small
business security environments.
Optimised to withstand the demands of
always-on DVR and NVR recording
environments, 10TB WD Purple hard drives offer
low power consumption and exclusive WD
technologies such as AllFrame 4K andHelioSeal.
Plug and protect security
management solution
Simple to set up and operate, Eventys NVRs from
Vanderbilt offer seamless video recording of up to
16 IP cameras. Now, ACTEnterprise allows cameras
connected to an Eventys EX NVR to be associated
with access control doors.
Any events recorded in the access control log
such as “access denied” or “door forced” can be
linked with the associated footage stored on the
NVR. Events on a door with a camera associated will
display a camera icon which allows clicking on the
camera icon to replay the footage.
Information is structured in one place which in
turn improves situational awareness. The
integration also improves response times as the
single system interface makes monitoring alarms
and events more effective and efficient.
