look great
i did it
be healthy and to be around for
my son, as long as possible,” she
shares. “With a clearer mind,you
are able to make better
decisions and take better care of
the people you love. You’re not
as moody, except for when
you’re in competition mode. The
diet puts my mood swings off the charts.
Nonetheless, I feel good and I’m always
positive. For me, that is the ultimate goal. I
am healthy and strong. I have a fit mind,
body and I’m tougher - tougher over all and
I like that,” Hilary claims.
Work out hard and diet harder
“I have long since said goodbye to white
carbohydrates - no bread, no rice, no
sweets, no cookies, cupcakes, cakes and
pizza. Those are all my favorites. Though,
they’re my one cheat meal, every week. Not
cheat day. Cheat meal,” she claims. “I eat a
lot of chicken, about eight egg whites a day,
and, for complex carbs, some sweet
potatoes. I eat a lot of broccoli, asparagus
and spinach. I don’t drink sweet drinks. It’s
always water and, if I’m craving for
something sweet, then I use either my
BCAAs or my pre workout,” she reveals. “It’s
not the workout that’s hard. It’s the diet,
knowing there’s this delicious looking
“My goal was to
be strong, to be
healthy and to be
around for my son,
as long as
possible.”
“Life is like
a full squat.
No matter
how heavy
the weight is,
the important
thing is you
get up.”
brownie ice cream sundae and you can’t
eat it.”
Consistency, consistency, consistency
“I am at Gold’s Gym every day. That’s my
second home. If I’m not in my house and
not at work, I’m at Gold’s Gym,” Hilary
beams. “I always start my day with cardio
because it gets my blood pumping. After
that I do a really good stretch and eat my
breakfast. I’ll eat my first and second meal
out of my six meals a day, then hit the gym
to pump some iron. I split up my muscle
groups - Monday and Wednesday, I do
shoulders and chest. Tuesday and
Thursday, I’ll do back and triceps,” she
explains. “There are days when I don’t want
to do it but I still get it done. I can complain
all I want but I’ll just have to get up and
show up - I’ve never regretted it. Life is like
a full squat. No matter how heavy the
weight is, the important thing is you get up,”
she concludes.
