Company Operations Manual
Chapter 3 § Safety
This policy provides the foundation upon which all Company operations shall be developed. All operations shall be
conducted in accordance with this policy.
“Safety is the Overriding Priority!”
Talon Helicopters is committed to providing the highest standards of quality while maintaining a safe and healthy
working and business environment for our employees, contractors, and passengers.
All management and employees shall strive towards a healthy and effective Safety Culture. Talon Helicopters
believes that safety is not spoken, but demonstrated by continually behaving in a manner which places safety as
the priority in all operational decisions. This is achieved by adhering to the company’s corporate core safety values
in the decision-making process. These values are:
§ all safety incidents can be prevented;
§ safety is every employee’s responsibility;
§ safety is built into every part of our operation; and,
§ involvement in safety is essential.
While ultimate accountability for safe operations rests with the Accountable Executive, the achievement of the
company’s vision requires each of our employees to be truly focused and committed to operating our company
safely. It is therefore expected that all employees will conform to all elements of the Company’s safety programs.
All employees must understand and commit to the following aspects of safety. They will:
§ treat each other with respect at all times;
§ understand hazard identification and risk assessment procedures;
§ utilize best safety practices;
§ complete all applicable Company training programs;
§ comply with all safety regulations, the Company Operations Manual, and this Health and Safety Policy;
and,
§ be responsible for effective communication through all corporate levels.
During the Company’s annual Safety Review meeting, the executives shall:
§ review this policy and up-date it as required; and,
§ consider and include safety objectives of this policy when setting annual goals.
As the Accountable Executive, I agree with and approve this policy.
