Transweld Nepal P. Ltd., an ISO

of manufacturing 5 KVA to 1000
KVA of 11 Kv & 33 Kv class
distribution transformers and
has been producing them for the
last 15 years. A company which

Mr. Shrestha, “At present, when
the country is bearing the burden
of power cuts, our company is
moving ahead with a view of
providing service rather than
earning profit. Similarly, we
have been providing parts to
the consumers of rural areas at
subsidized rates to help in the
electrification of villages.”
The Design
The designs meet stringent
requirements of prevailing
standards and specific
requirements of the customers,
ensuring a trouble-free service
through quality manufacturing
and management process.
Special care is taken to keep the
losses low, thereby maintaining
a better ‘Power Factor’ when
running at top load.
The Core
The Core, housed in a rigid frame,
is insulated on both sides and
built from imported low loss,
fully annealed, cold rolled grain
oriented (CRGO), non–ageing
silicon steel sheets (Grade M-4,
ASIS standard). Latest techniques
of interleaving and mitered joints
reduce core losses and no load
currents considerably.
Winding
Multi layered winding coil,
consisting of high enamelled
copper wire that resist high
temperatures of 120°C - 200°C,
are wound with electrolytic high
conductors. Proper cooling ducts
are provided to ensure the low
temperature gradient between
winding oil thereby keeping the
hot spot temperature as low as
possible.
Transformer Oil
The insulating oil is high quality,
clean, free from moisture,
improved mineral oil as per BS
148:1984 IEC 296 standard.
Testing & Quality Control
Every Transweld distribution
transformer is produced
under strict supervision of ISO
9001:2000 quality management
systems. Every transformer
undergoes a set of measurement
and tests prior to delivery, such
as Measurement of winding
resistance; Measurement of
voltage ratio test;
Measurement
of insulation
resistance;
Measurement
of no load loss
and current test;
Measurement
of load loss
and sort circuit
impendence;
Induced potential
test; Polarity and
phase relation
test; Applied potential test; Oil
test; Oil leakage test
