DDG History - CREDIT SCAMS
plague the nation. For a number of years,
my software kept your credit data secure
at Experian Credit Reporting. But I can
talk about it now that the NWA’s and the
like have expired. I can say as hard as we
worked, 9 to 5 to keep it secure, many others
worked 24 x7 to steal it.
Today we are entering a deregulated and
so called de-constructed state of a Trump
administration. Which means all corporations
have little to fear from consumer
protection laws or enforcement.
While the modern Computer age we have
entered is nothing like the past, we sit as
victims to a world of massive consumer
Over the years since the DDG started in fraud, the like of which have never been
1994, new consumer scams continue to seen before since Capone live here.
. And it will continue to be worse for the as
banks and other creditors all jump into a
fast and loose credit market is on it way.
Here are a few facts and tips to protect
yourself and others:
Access Security
• Keep your virus protection on and your
system software up to date.
• Keep your password secure and randomly
complicated combinations,
Change it often.
• If someone asks you to wire money or
provide your bank account information
over the telephone, it’s a scam.
• Watch for Skimmers are illegal card
readers attached to payment terminals
— like gas pumps — that grab data off
a credit or debit card’s magnetic stripe
without your knowledge.
• Anytime you have to pay to get a prize,
it’s a scam.
• Remember the FTC doesn’t oversee
sweepstakes and no FTC staff is
involved in giving out sweepstakes prizes.
They do, however, go after sweepstakes
scams based on your complaints.
If an FTC case results in refunds, you
can find the details at ftc.gov/redress.
If you encounter this or other scams,
report it to the FTC at 1-877-FTC-
HELP or ftc.gov/complaint.
• The National Association of Realtors®
want to remind you that scammers
sometimes use emails to rob home buyers
of their closing costs and personal
information.
Letters text or email from financial institution
are suspicious IF:
They do not greet you by title and surname,
as in “Dear Mrs Smith”.
They never ask you to confirm personal or
financial info in an email or text.
Attempt to scare you with urgent warning
messages and we never use email to warn
you of suspicious activity on your account.
Emails look odd, with a messy layout and
spelling mistakes.
THE NUDE IN THE ARTS EXPRESSION OF HUMANITY
AND RESISTANCE TO REPRESSION
The arts have long been associated with
a controversial expression that bumps up
against what current societal norms find
to be acceptable to good taste or decency.
Censorship has been prevalent often from a
religious emphasis but also from social and
political sources. Nudity is generally the
controversial topic that is under censorship.
From Michelangelo’s “The Last Judgement”
in the Sistine Chapel, which was found
to be immoral and unholy by some of the
Catholic faith including Pope Daniele De
Volterra; to a 2012 performance in Moscow,
Russia by a group called the “Pussy Riot”
which proclaimed, “Mother of God drive
our Putin”. Police arrested the group and
three members were imprisoned for hooliganism
and inspiring religious hatred. The
three imprisoned were subsequently released
in 2013 after which they performed
with Madona in a protest concert.
The L.A. Pride/Protest celebration last week
featured several go-go dancers celebrating
their natural body and demonstrating
resistance which was aimed at the current
tyrannical Trump administration. A photo
of one of these dancers taken by the photographer,
Biron, is included in this article.
All of the arts including music, Painting,
drawing, sculpture, dance, and motion
pictures are needed to show opposition to
censorship and repression. The role of art
and aesthetics in bringing about personal
and collective change has demonstrated
effectiveness. Now as much as in any time
in history, we need to demonstrate that
repression in the form of bigotry, misogyny,
racism, and unfounded censorship is challenged
vigorously. Art and the artists who
create it, and the people who support it, are
in the forefront of achieving a better more
accepting society.
Questions, comments, suggestions, contact
at - adamsartexpose@gmail.com
Censorship is directly related to repression
and LGBTQ people are very familiar with
repression. Nudity is an in-your-face way
of expressing individuality in a very personal
human direct manner. Naked bodies
have nothing to hide and art using nudity
expresses a variety of themes from the nude
statue of the David by Michelangelo depicting
the natural person taking on the giant,
to modern expressive dance, and ballet
depicting a romantic theme of peace and
tranquility.
JERSEY’S JOURNAL by jersey Shore
There are a lot of vain people in this world.
You know, the kind of people who think
they are God? Of course they are the kind
of people who think if you look at them,
smile or at hello to them, you want them.
It’s this kind of person that I love to play
with. Not sexually. I do a little experiment
if you will. Play a head game in that already
arcade-game-like head of theirs.
Today I was at the grocery store and
around the corner come “one of those people”.
He sees me looking at him about 100
feet away and I can begin to see the ego
glow. In a half a second I looked away and
put a scowl on my face. His reaction was
priceless, as if this middle aged man who
goes to the gym, got gawked at daily. In
his mind he had been. Like I said, I’m just
polite. You’ve got the ego.
Well his face wasn’t having it. I decided
to check out and who was about to get in
my lane? Ego man. He quickly hit the lane
after. It was that slight reaction on his face
that I loved. No it wasn’t a “not behind
the fat, flirty, fag who’ll never get it, Never
get it”. It was a slight sign of rejection. So,
I guess the larger the ego, the larger the
crash. As well it should be. Karma.
Vanity at that extent is disgusting, but
these days, do I bat an eyelash? I assume
everyone is that way. You must assume the
worst in people and that is an awful way to
be, but it’s how we are programmed and it
sucks.
So, I sit and ponder and wonder, is this
how people are everywhere and should I
move to a less egocentric avenue? Or do I
realize that this is how life will be for the
approximately forty years or so I have left
on this ridiculous planet?
Does “Life suck, then you die”? It’s not
exactly a roll in the hay, I’ll give it five
more minutes to decide.
Peace, love and Ego,
THE LAST WORD by Greg Pettis
Well this week The Donald traveled to
Poland and Germany for the G-20 summit.
Of course tweeted his normal nastiness
about the 2016 election (one would
think for all his bitching he had lost in
instead of won).
At the summit he spent 2 1/2 hours with
his best bud Czar Putin. Not sure what he
gave away but the Russians were smiling
afterwards. At one point he stepped out
of the summit and who took his place at
the table....? Not Secretary of State Tillerson,
but his daughter, Ivanka! What
would folks have said if Chelsea Clinton or
Mahalia Obama did that?? Unbelievable.
North Korea continues to thumb it’s nose
at us and the rest of the world by launching
an ICBM that could reach Alaska
or Hawaii. Again bluster from the Prez
but no discernible action except complain
China isn’t doing enough. Maybe he
doesn’t realize Alaska and Hawaii are in
the USA or that we have 40,000 + soldiers
in South Korea. God help us all.
Locally Cathedral City and Indio are moving
ahead with public hearings on changing
the way they elect city council members
- from at large to district. All this is
being done in time for the 2018 elections.
Big changes afoot.
I am in Sydney, Australia this week and
next, with the Cathedral City High School
Symphonic Orchestra. 60 extraordinary
young people playing in various venues
including the Sydney Opera House. They
are participating in a 6 nation World Projects
concert tour with young people from
China, Canada, the Philippines, Croatia,
Australia and our students from the USA.
They are doing us proud. More on the trip
next week
For now, keep resisting!
Greg Pettis is a 22 year city councilman in
Cathedral City. He has made his name in
governmental circles as an expert in transportation
issues and is very active in working
on bringing passenger rail service to the
COACHELLA Valley. Greg was the first openly
gay elected city council members In Riverside
County. He has served on the boards of
the National League of Cities and the League
of California Cities and as President of the
Southern CA Association of Governments.
