year to an updated, state-of-the-art
showroom in Manchester, located
just east of Joey B’s restaurant on
Manchester Road.
“We are honored to still be serving
this community after nearly 40 years, so we’ve spent the past year building a new home
here that just happens to sell jewelry,” explains Michael, the company’s president.
The showroom is just the beginning of what’s new in 2017 at The Diamond Family.
While shopping designer jewelry lines from all over the world, customers can enjoy a
coffee or a cocktail in the store’s lounge, featuring a full bar, comfortable seating and
a TV area. While having jewelry repaired, they can relax and watch their pieces being
worked on through an observation window. Customers who prefer to shop online before
visiting the store can also take advantage of the company’s new website, which boasts
more than 50,000 items and tools like a 3-D virtual diamond tour with microscope
capabilities.
In addition to its extensive diamond and bridal
jewelry selections, The Diamond Family’s
custom design capabilities are unparalleled.
Through its unique HOPEStrong collection,
created by designer and Vice President Alex
Haddad, customers also can give back to
the community. The company donates 20
percent of the proceeds from this beautiful
and inspiring jewelry to area charities.

La Gallerie: Unique, uplifting and fun
It’s not just her last name – it’s her passion. Dawn Painter is a second-generation
owner of La Gallerie, an art gallery in Historic Saint Charles. Since taking over the family
business in September 2015, Dawn has rolled
up her sleeves.
“For 20 years, La Gallerie has been a destination
for unique, one-of-a-kind art,” Dawn said. “As
owner, I ensure that we offer our customers an
opportunity to select from a variety of styles,
which are not ‘run of the mill’ duplicates found at
big box and large retail stores.
“Our traditional, modern, contemporary and
fun art and home décor has been selected from
a wide range of interior design houses for the
unique flair that will be a topic of conversation.”
La Gallerie features affordable, original art such
as oil paintings, giclées and print-on-print pieces,
including many by local artists. Customers can
spruce up their homes throughout the year,
thanks to rotating seasonal merchandise, home
décor items, mirrors and gifts.
Once a customer has fallen in love with a piece
of artwork, they can select its setting without ever
leaving the store. La Gallerie’s on-site framer can
highlight that piece with any of their wide variety
of frames.

Preparedness training, gun store and shooting facility
The Range St. Louis West is a full-service indoor shooting range, retail store, gun
repair and preparedness training facility. The brand new state-of-the-art building has a
20-lane range which is clean and bright with a top-of-the-line ventilation system. The
4-foot wide lanes are divided into three separate bays, one of which can be used as a
tactical shooting bay. The retail store has a huge selection of guns and ammunition,
holsters and magazines, bags and all
other accessories.
The two large classrooms can
accommodate large and small groups
for educational courses as well as
private events. Additionally, there is a
shooting simulator for target shooting
and self-defense scenarios as well as a
relaxing lounge with fresh-brewed coffee.
With a background in the military, law enforcement and business, Managing Partner
John Henderson is passionate about teaching and equipping people to take responsibility
for their personal safety and the safety of those they love. “R U Ready?” is the motto of The
Range and it is directly attributable to the keen emphasis on being more than a shooting
range and gun store. Not all training is centered on firearms. In fact, many include
personal protection and preparedness classes.

Making a positive difference in the world
Plowsharing is a not-for-profit retail gift shop that sells handmade items from all over
the world. It is a Fair Trade store, meaning all of the skilled artisans and farmers producing
the goods sold in the store are paid fair prices and wages, work in safe conditions and
protect the environment. The store gives customers an opportunity to use their power in
the marketplace to make a positive difference in the world.
At Plowsharing, customers will find a wide
variety of jewelry, personal accessories,
clothing, musical instruments, home
decor, coffee, chocolate and holiday items
from five continents and over 40 different
countries, including Peru, Kenya, Bangladesh,
India, Guatemala and more.
The Town & Country store is one of three
locations, all of which began as a project
of the St. Louis Mennonite Fellowship in
1985. Today, the Plowsharing stores are
independent and are reliant on volunteers for assistance. New volunteers are always
welcome.
The other Plowsharing stores are in the University City Loop and in downtown Kirkwood.
For more than 30 years, the Plowsharing organization has helped thousands of poor
and low-income artisans and their families by marketing their creativity and telling their
stories.
