Located outside Uvalde, Texas, the<br />
ranch includes an impressive 3,200<br />
acres of rolling hills, mature trees,<br />
native shrubs and with the Nueces<br />
River running through the land, water is<br />
abundant and wildlife plentiful. One of<br />
its many impressive features is the over<br />
25,000-square-foot old world Spanish<br />
mission lodge that was specifically<br />

adventures and gatherings. The family sought veteran architect<br />
Robert Kaler to design the project using two inspirations; the<br />
Espiritu Santo Spanish mission built in the 1750s; the other, the<br />
Presidio La Bahia walled fortress across the Guadalupe River.<br />
With its vast and many building it resembles a Spanish-style<br />
village hence the “Mexican Village” soon stuck as the name<br />
of this spectacular feat of architecture. The village includes<br />
multiple buildings surrounding a large public plaza. In the<br />
center of the plaza sits an authentic water fountain imported<br />
from Guadalajara, Mexico. Brick walkways extend out from the<br />
plaza, connecting the living areas with numerous screened<br />
patios and outdoor gathering spaces. On one side of the<br />
village are six casitas, or private living areas, each impeccably<br />
furnished with separate entrances, baths, and patios. At the far<br />
end is the exquisite master suite with a private patio and sitting<br />
area—a quiet place to wind down and recharge. Across the<br />
plaza in separate buildings are the larger gathering spaces,<br />
including the cantina, or large dining hall, and the mission,<br />
which serves as the retreat’s entertainment center with a<br />
poker room, home theater, and television/game room. Being<br />
located in the famed hunting grounds of South Texas, the<br />
landscaped was specifically manipulated to increase, promote<br />
and increase the amount of quail and white tail deer habitat<br />
throughout the ranch. The ranch began in 2006 a program<br />
of planting a variety of native grasses and forbs throughout<br />
the ranch with strategic roads specifically designed for first<br />
class hunting and management. The whitetail deer herd has<br />
been carefully managed under Texas Parks and Wildlife MLD<br />
program to enhance and produce numerous deer roaming the<br />
pastures over 300 Boone and Crockett. Every aspect of this<br />
