School site or whether it decides to dispose of
the site for commercial development.
It’s a waiting game, so stay tuned - the Penn
School Working Group will continue to monitor
progress and keep you informed. Peter Miller
Tylers Green Village Hall
Tylers Green Village Hall has a new website
- www.tylersgreeenvillagehall.co.uk - which
tells you all you need to know about the hall and
its facilities. It lists all the regular events taking
place in the hall to which the public are invited
and tells you what’s available if you want to
book any of the two rooms in the hall available
for children’s parties, family occasions etc. It
includes a facility for sending an email to the
hall if you are interested in booking.
Please note that the hall will be closed for one
week from 21 August to enable redecorating
and refurbishments to take place and it will
reopen again on 29 August, after the bank
holiday. Peter Brown
Beer Festival
The Beer Festival was again a massive success,
greatly supported by the people of Penn.
This year we provided a selection of 25
different ales, many new to the Festival which
were greatly appreciated by the connoisseurs of
ales attending the event. This was supported by
3 different ciders and most importantly four
spare barrels in case we started to run out!
The ladies attending were greatly impressed
by the Pimms bar, and the ingenuity of the staff
who used bucket & spade "ice buckets" to keep
ANOTHER GREAT ATTENDANCE!
serving when the Pimms jugs started to run out.
All of this was supported by the team in the
club house, now working behind the new bar,
which provided more space and faster service.
Many thanks to the Tin Kitchen, for providing
a good variety of food to keep all ages happy.
Music was played from 3pm, and ranged
from a very young Kiegan Embury, making his
bow before a very big audience, to local
favourites the Running Guns, with the evening
closing by old favourites Upside.
For the seventh year, the event was incident
free and the crowd again went home happy.
If there is anybody in he village who would
be interested in assisting with the organisation
of next years event, please give your contact
details to the bar staff at the Sports & Social
Club, who will be in touch with you. Dave Taylor
Neighbourhood Action Group
Crime issues in the area remain quite low. A
new website to support victims of crime has
been launched, called Victims First www.
victims-first.org.uk. This is a new online
resource for victims of crime, with advice on
what to do and how to get help.
The Hazlemere/Chepping Wycombe NAG.have
5 Neighbourhood priorities for 2017;
1.Speeding/road safety. MVAS & CSW
activities have shown speeding continuing as a
major problem. We continue to press Thames
Valley Police to deploy their Mobile Camera
van around the area. A proposal to purchase
Your Speed Indicator Devices [YSID] is to be
put forward for consideration. More volunteers
are needed for our MVAS Teams in all areas of
CWPC, so contact the chairman by E-Mail
davidonslow38@gmail.com or telephone 01628
819108 if you can help
2.Anti social behaniour/criminal damage. The
CNPT team have undertaken an ASB motorbike
operation around Kingswood, in response to
complaints from nearby residents of motorbikes
being ridden illegally in the Kingswood area. If
you are aware of the problem and have any
useful information for the police, please contact
