New full service:
Universal Credit
At a Jobcentre near you from October 2017
New full service Universal Credit (UC) is being rolled out across Manchester from October 2017.
This will affect new claims and existing customers who have a change in circumstances.
It will replace...
• Housing Benefit (HB)
• Working Tax Credit (WTC)
• Child Tax Credit (CTC)
• Income Support (IS)
• Jobseeker’s Allowance - Income
Based (JSA–IB)
• Employment & Support Allowance -
Income Related (ESA-IR)
What’s the difference?
• Payments will be made monthly in arrears.
• If you are a couple, you will receive one payment so you
will need to decide which account this payment goes into.
• Housing costs will be paid to you and you will be
responsible for paying your rent to your housing provider.
• Universal Credit does not include Council Tax Support,
so you will need to apply for this separately.
• You will need a bank or credit union account to receive
payments (Post Office accounts are not accepted).
• You will need to apply and manage your claim online.
If you are currently on Universal Credit you will be contacted
when you need to transfer onto the new full service.
You will receive a letter from DWP and need to reply
within 14 days or your claim will end.

need to do.
