Rocks in my Laundry Basket - Birthing the Babies
stopping when I had a pain, holding on to Mother and the nurse until they could get me into the wheelchair.
Inside, another scene of confusion, as nurses ran to and fro in frantic bumper car activity – banging into each other, bouncing off, turning another
direction. I seemed to be the only calm one there. They must have few precipitous deliveries—usually it takes hours, and everyone has time to get
themselves physically and mentally prepared. Birth is such an exciting and emotionally draining experience for all involved that a little
preparatory time is desirable. Nevertheless, this same scene repeats itself two more times for me and Jack County Hospital. I always threw them
into a panic, but they liked me because I never interfered for long with their regular mealtime.
and excellently. It’s nice to have one talent.
