Brave New Worlds: VR Meets Fiction
Jerome Blanquet’s explorations of the image and spontaneous writing lead him to the representation
of what escapes our consciousness. Inspired by technology, he continually interrogates the limits
of his tools and his knowledge. It diverts from the established forms, in search of interstices, to the
kinds of open areas where can find meaning.
Masterclass on Web VR
Brian Chirls is the Chief Technology Officer at Datavized, an immersive data visualization platform
using WebVR. A recognized innovator in the independent film world, he was previously the Digital
Technology Fellow at POV, a position funded by the Knight Foundation. He has developed innovative
models for interaction, data visualization and content-authoring in Virtual Reality. Brian has helped
to create a new genre of interactive video pieces and software libraries that demonstrate ways to
combine the interactivity and connectivity of the web with the aesthetic power of cinema. His work
has been presented at CPH:DOX, MIT, IDFA DocLab, SXSW and Tribeca Film Institute.
Arnav Ghosh - Augmenting Reality (Panel)
Arnav is a thought leader, educator and apprentice investor. He brings to the track a deep
understanding of marketing and immersive technology products and services with his 20 years of
multi-platform, vertical leadership roles with global Brands and services across India, S.E Asia and
Europe. Currently, he is Managing Director of Blippar (a global AR / AI platform) in India. He loves
to triangulate content, commerce and technology with the creative process to build a contextually
relevant idea. He has a keen interest in cross cultural collaboration & astronomy. He has also cofounded
a start up in the area of predictive analytics.
