DCASA AGM
The Annual General Meeting (AGM)
of the Debt Counsellors Association
of South Africa (DCASA) was held in
November 2017 at the Kempton Park
Golf Club. AGMs are not generally
known to be fancy affairs but they do
attend to some critical business, like
updating members on the banking
and accounts, as well as, giving
members the chance to vote for
the National Executive Committee
(NEC) - who help organize the day
to day of the association.
The AGM is also an opportunity to
hear the President of the association
(Mr Paul Slot in 2017) give a report
on what the association has achieved
during the last year and where the
industry finds itself.
Then there is also the chance to look
forward to the next year and possible
goals that need to be focused on.
This year there were some changes
made to the constitution of the
association, as well as the planned
appointment of an auditor for the
association.
NCR Quarterly Reports
In case you missed the deadline,
the NCR are waiting on Debt
Counsellor’s reports for the 1st of
July till end of September 2017. The
reports were due midway through
November. Handing in these reports
is obligatory for all registered Debt
Counsellors even if they are not
practicing.
NCT Visit to KZN
The National Consumer Tribunal
visited both the Western Cape and
KZN in recent weeks with their
motion courts to hear debt review
