4.4.1 Oil <strong>and</strong> Gas Production in PSC Regime in 2015-16:<br />
Under the PSC regime, in 2015-16, 37 oil <strong>and</strong> gas blocks; <strong>and</strong> 5 CBM blocks were under production. A total of 16 companies<br />
were operating in these producing fields/ blocks in 2015-16. Currently, crude oil <strong>and</strong> natural gas production is from seven<br />
sedimentary basins of the country which are - Rajasthan, Assam-Arakan, Assam Shelf Basin, Cambay, Cauvery, Krishna-<br />
Godavari <strong>and</strong> Mumbai.<br />
Crude oil production during 2015-16 was 11,356 TMT as against the target of 10,719 TMT. Achievement with respect to<br />
target was 106% <strong>and</strong> w.r.t 2014-15 it was 96 %. Majority of the oil produced was from the Rajasthan basin (76 %), followed<br />
by Krishna Godavari Basin (11 %). In 2015-16, the share of offshore crude oil production was about 22 % <strong>and</strong> the remaining<br />
crude oil production was from 4 States viz., Rajasthan, Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh <strong>and</strong> Tamil Nadu.<br />
Gas production under PSC Regime during 2015-16 is 8235 MMSCM as against the target of 8362 MMSCM. Achievement<br />
w.r.t target is 98 % <strong>and</strong> that of w.r.t 2014-15 is 92 %. In CBM blocks, the gas production was 393 MMSCM. Majority of the<br />
gas is coming from Krishna Godavari basin (53 %), followed by Mumbai basin (26%). In 2015-16, the share of offshore<br />
natural gas production was about 80%. The remaining natural gas production including CBM was from 7 States viz.,<br />
Rajasthan (14%), Gujarat (1.1%), West Bengal (4.7 %), Arunachal Pradesh (0.22 %), Jharkh<strong>and</strong> (0.02%), Madhya Pradesh<br />
(0.02%) <strong>and</strong> Tamil Nadu (0.01%).<br />
