Advanced Nature Workshops: Winter Birding
2-Day Session

Through specimen studies, slideshow quizzes, and hikes in
the Cassatt Preserve, this workshop will dig deeper into the
behaviors of our common backyard birds, and also take a look
at some of the less common birds that can be found here in
the colder months. Registration fee includes two three-hour
sessions (9am – noon Saturday and Sunday). Workshop meets
in the Carriage House – Science Lab. Binoculars are available for loan.

Art & Nature

Using UMLY's collection of animals and specimens,
children will learn how to make basic sketches and 3D
models of plants and animals with a variety of media. We
will also use materials found in nature to make exciting
art projects indoors and outdoors.

Get up close and personal with the animals in the nature
center and on UMLY farm! Students will learn how to
properly interact with and care for animals, and discover
how plants, animals and humans all depend on each other.
