It’s time for a democratic disruption, time to vote career politicians out.” Mr Robinson spent the first 30 years of his life in Willoughby and attended Marist Brothers North Shore in Miller Street, North Shore. After completing studies at UNSW, he specialised in orthopaedic surgery and continues to work as an orthopaedic surgeon in various states. Tony has strong family ties to Sydney and if elected, will relocate to the seat of Bennelong. Tony is married with three adult children and a recent grandfather. He was a proud supporter of the North Sydney Rugby League Bears, unfortunately now defunct. Mr Robinson was seething over the Liberal Party’s decision to place him last on their ‘how to vote’ materials. He said the Liberal Party was effectively playing a game of “diversified multi-brand marketing” and this represented a new strategy in politics: “You produce one product and sell it under different brands.” “Strategists at the LNP dangle the Nationals as a carrot for country voters, while Australian Conservatives is the brand for frustrated, conservative Liberals,” he said. “In the end, it all ends up with Team Turnbull. Ever wondered why in 2016 - and again in the Bennelong by-election - the Liberals put ALA last on their HTV cards, behind Labor, Greens and hard-left activist groups?” Mr Robinson said that in contrast, the Liberals and Australian Conservatives were preferencing eachother, with Fred Nile’s CDP “as the middle token.” “A vote for the Australian Conservatives means more of the same for the old boys, who pull the strings at LNP headquarters,” he said. “And more of the same for Australia: More Islam, globalisation, bureaucracy, immigration, welfareshoppers, political correctness and more public debt.” Tony Robinson encourages voters in Bennelong to vote 1 for ALA and adds: “The preferences are up to each voter to decide. Today Liberals and Labor are both bad choices for our country.” The ALA’s website says the party’s members are “civic-minded Australians” who cannot remain passive while “damage is done to our nation, our communities and our families.” It says members of Australian Liberty Alliance make a stand for what is right, just and not negotiable; values our forefathers worked and died for. “We give civic-minded Australians the opportunity to become part of a new movement, a political party that offers Australian voters a new vision and hope for the future.” For more information, visit www.australianlibertyalliance. org.au Christian voters respond to Christian Democrats religious freedom policies RELIGIOUS freedom has emerged as a key issue for Christians in the lead up to this Saturday’s election day in Bennelong. The Weekly Times has learned that many Christians from a non- English background will put the issue first when they vote, as concerns emerge about how same sex marriage laws will impact on Christian churches. The concerns are expected to be a vote winner for The Christian Democrat candidate Gui Dong (William) Cao, who also stands for grassroots democracy and local government rights. Christian Democrats State Director Craig Hall told The Weekly Times that a vote for candidate Gui Dong (William) Cao is also a vote for traditional family values. “Top of our list is traditional marriage , freedom of religion, freedom of speech as well as traditional family values,” Mr Hall said. Mr Hall hopes voters will remember to support Ryde has from party leader the Rev Fred Nile. “We hope voters will recall how Reverend Fred Nile MLC stood by voters in Ryde and Hunters Hill to fight against forced council amalgamations. “This is central to our belief because we are a grassroots political party and Christianity itself started as a grassroots faith.” An important part of the Christian Democrats philosophy is support for older and retired people. “This means we will fight for quality funding for aged cut and we oppose cuts to services to aged care,” Mr Hall said. While the Christian Democrats are unashamedly Christian in policy and ethics, the party is strictly non-denomenational. “We don’t favour any denomination of ethnicity and we hope to have the support of the Orthodox Christian community in Bennelong as well as from Armenian, Chinese and Korean speaking Christians.” The Christian Democrats are expected to give first preferences to the Australian Conservatives.
