Marsfield church receives
200 pleas for presents
MORE than 200 notes asking for Christmas presents have been stuck on the branches of the
Christmas tree at St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Marsfield.
Called the Tree of Joy,
it was planted next to St
Anthony’s famous Maria
Santissima delle Grazie
shrine a few weeks ago
and appeal supporter
and Ryde celebrity Roseanna
Gallo OAM said
she hopes every request
on the branches
will be granted.
“We are a very caring
community and a very
generous community,”
she said.
“Our Tree of Joy has
more than 200 requests
for gifts and we will try
hard to meet every request
through this initiative
of St Anthony’s
Parish and the Society
of St Vincent de Paul.

proclaim the Catholic
Church commitment.

FREE Community
Christmas Dinner
Reach Community Initiatives will host a free
Community Christmas Dinner next Wednesday
December 20 in the West Ryde Community
Hall, 3-5 Anthony Road, West Ryde, at
6.30pm.
This family friendly event includes Christmas
carols, great food and giveaway hampers for
those in need and will be lots of fun.
The dinner is hosted by Reach Community Initiatives
together with C3 Cares, with partnership
support from C3 Church Ryde and Ryde City
Council and Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club.
