Electricity<br />
Voltage is 230–240V, frequency 50Hz, the plug is standard European. You are advised <strong>to</strong><br />
bring an intern<strong>at</strong>ional travel plug, if you use another plug and voltage system.<br />
W<strong>at</strong>er is basically safe but it is highly chlorin<strong>at</strong>ed. You may prefer <strong>to</strong> drink mineral w<strong>at</strong>er<br />
or use Oligocene w<strong>at</strong>er well (the nearest Oligocene w<strong>at</strong>er well is indic<strong>at</strong>ed on the campus<br />
map).<br />
Libraries<br />
There are several public libraries available for students in Warsaw – do not hesit<strong>at</strong>e <strong>to</strong> use<br />
their collections whether you need help in the studying process or some entertainment for<br />
a rainy day.<br />
The N<strong>at</strong>ional Library occupies the building <strong>at</strong> the Al. Niepodległości 213. As the biggest<br />
library in Poland, it holds over five million volumes. Moreover, there you can e<strong>at</strong> an<br />
inexpensive lunch.<br />
The general reading room is open and a copying machine available:<br />

The Parliament Library is situ<strong>at</strong>ed <strong>at</strong> ul. Wiejska 4/6, the inform<strong>at</strong>ion desk is <strong>at</strong> Wiejska 2<br />
building K. The library is open from 08.30 <strong>to</strong> 20.00. Phone: (22) 694 10 73. Their Social<br />
His<strong>to</strong>ry Collection reading room is <strong>at</strong> ul. Smyczkowa 14, open on weekdays 08.30–15.30,<br />
Tue–Wed till 18.00.<br />
The Warsaw University Library<br />
is situ<strong>at</strong>ed <strong>at</strong> ul. Dobra 56/66. It is opened from Monday <strong>to</strong> S<strong>at</strong>urday 09.00–21.00, and the<br />
