Birds for Beginners RSPB, Largs Road, Lochwinnoch 11am to 1.30pm Are you a beginner to bird watching? Join the team at RSPB Lochwinnoch for a workshop ideal for introducing beginners to this fantastic hobby! Learn more about common garden birds and pick up tips and advice on wildlife watching techniques. After this, we’ll head out onto the reserve to put these new skills into practise and then top it all off with a hot drink back at the centre. You don’t even need your own binoculars, as they are available for hire from the shop! Please book, as places are limited. SA T 13 TH - SUN 14 TH JA N U A R Y Model Rail Exhibition Johnstone Town Hall, Johnstone Renfrewshire Model Railway Club’s 2018 Exhibition - layouts will range from N gauge to G Scale. This Exhibition will be multinational with layouts depicting scenes from ten different countries. There will also be an interactive zone where visitors will be able to control locos and racing cars, which proved a great hit with our younger visitors. Once again the large Lego layout will be there. MO N 15 TH JA N - SA T 17 TH FEBRUARY Art Exhibition for St Vincent’s Hospice The Bridge, Main Street, Bridge of Weir From the 15th January to 17th February we are pleased to host an art exhibition in aid of St Vincent’s Hospice. Please come along to support this local charity. The Bridge also boasts an extensive selection of Greetings Cards, essential Stationery items, a drop in café, ever-changing exhibitions and sales of used books. RSPB, Largs Road, Lochwinnoch 10am to 12noon Rainforests are like no other habitat, and in spite of only covering 2% of our earth’s surface, around half of all animal and plant species live here! These amazing areas, found on every continent except Antarctica, are under threat every day from logging, agriculture and mining. Come along for fun day out on the reserve to learn about why rainforests are so amazing and important. Please wear suitable clothing for being outdoors. Ages: 5 to 14 years. Please note that all children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Booking essential. Cost: £5 (£3 RSPB members) (adults go free) Concert by Westerton Male Voice Kilmacolm Old Kirk, High Street, Kilmacolm 7pm to 9.30pm Hosted by Kilmacolm & Quarriers Christian Aid committee. Westerton Male Voice are celebrating 60 years of singing, the full choir of forty five male singers are promising an evening of high class entertainment.
