Garden
On Sunday 26th November a few of us did a
bit more clearing up of rubbish and leaves.
We tidied up the containers at the library too.
The payback team have been hard at work
clearing more of the weeds etc. In addition,
the Lochwinnoch school
‘Green team’ spent a morning with L i z
Parsons helping to construct some paths round the
pond.
The poly tunnel is on course to be replaced. The
damage to the wooden structures is not as bad as
we thought so we hope it will be up and running for
the new year to
start planting.
A big thank you
to all who have
helped either at
the garden or in
the planting of the
many containers
we now have in
and round the village. We plan to have a whole
day on a Saturday to work in the garden we will let
everyone know when it is in the new year, here’s to
good weather for us all in 2018!
Top Community Cycle
Award for CMRP
Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park and partners Ride
63 Community Cycling Club, have been awarded the GOLD level Cycle
Friendly Community Award by Cycling Scotland. The Award recognises
the wide range of cycling that goes on in the local community and how
Clyde Muirshiel has encouraged and developed this.
In order to meet the conditions for the Award at Gold level, the Park
has over the past few years undertaken a wide range of cycling related
activities. These have included training new cycle ride leaders, acquiring
a wide range of adapted bikes, delivering adapted bike sessions to local
special schools and completing studies on active travel enhancements
as well as investigating the potential for more off road bike routes.

The 2017/18 season got off to a great start with the addition of many
new members. This increase in numbers, and the fact that most of them
are new to photography as a hobby, has necessitated additional club
nights for tutorials, demonstrations and workshops. We still have lots
more topics to discuss from the basics to more advanced techniques.
So, if you are interested in photography and weren’t sure about joining
a camera club, now would be a good time as you would not be alone in
this learning process, especially if you have received a new camera over
Christmas. We are a small and friendly club with the aim of promoting
photography to the wider community.
During November we
discussed how to take
sunsets. The sunset
examples shown were
taken by D. McPherson, J.
Davies and P. O’Brien. We
also introduced basic photo
editing techniques, managing
digital photographs on your
PC and how to find them
quickly without the need of
specialised software.
The festive season is now
past but the club would like to
wish all readers of the Gryffe
Advertizer all the very best for
2018.
The main meeting will be
held as usual on the second
Monday of the month, 8th
January 2018 at 7:30pm. The
print competition topic for
January 8th is “Environmental
Trash”. The PDI meeting will
be held on the fourth Monday
of the month, 22nd January
at 7:30pm. The topic for PDI
night is “Forms in Nature”.
Membership is only £10 for
