last year, the Cashmere Road<br />
hair salon 50 Shades of Fabulous<br />
has been proving popular with a<br />
growing clientele and the business<br />
is going very well, says owner<br />
Rebecca Wilson.<br />
The salon’s stylists offer a full<br />
range of services including cutting,<br />
colouring, blow waves, foils and<br />
hair-ups, catering for all ages and<br />
style preferences.<br />
They keep up to date with all<br />
the latest hair care and styling<br />
products from L’Oreal, and have<br />
just introduced a brand-new<br />
product, Smartbond, to the salon.<br />
“We offer this for clients who are<br />
having their hair coloured,” says<br />
Rebecca.<br />
“It works within the hair shaft<br />
to strengthen the hair and prevent<br />
damage while the hair is being<br />
coloured.”<br />
The treatment is optional, and<br />
costs $25 per treatment. Clients<br />
can also purchase Smartbond<br />
conditioner to take home for<br />
ongoing treatment.<br />
50 Shades of Fabulous also has<br />
the special L’Oreal offer – $83 for<br />
a 750ml Vitamino shampoo and<br />
750ml conditioner – a saving of<br />
over 50 per cent.<br />
“They have great deals like this<br />
every six months,” Rebecca says,<br />
“and they are only available while<br />
stocks last.”<br />
With its warm, friendly<br />
environment, 50 Shades of<br />
Fabulous has become a popular<br />
spot with locals, and during<br />
the recent Port Hills fires many<br />
gathered around the salon while<br />
they were out of their homes.<br />
During the ordeal the salon was<br />
visited by TVNZ journalist Toni<br />
Street, who not only reported<br />
live for the programme Seven<br />
Sharp, but also spent time<br />
speaking to the staff and<br />
clients, three of whom had been<br />
evacuated from their homes.<br />
“She was just lovely,” Rebecca<br />
says.<br />

9am, with late night Thursday,<br />
and Saturday from 10am-<br />
12pm.<br />
