Blue Smoke to host their musical<br />

afternoons. The event aims to<br />

bring talented musicians from<br />

around the area and further a<br />

field to perform while you sit and<br />

relax, enjoying some dinner or<br />

having a dance. These performances<br />

are free and aim to get<br />

the community to enjoy music.<br />

The event is held in the courtyard<br />

unless it is raining, in<br />

which case it’s still on, just<br />

indoors.<br />

Creative Writing<br />

Mid-Week Laughter Club<br />

The focus of the club is to get<br />

over the stress of the first part of<br />

the week and have a positive outlook<br />

for the rest. The event aims<br />

to release endorphins and help<br />

you relax and lower stress levels.<br />

There is no comedy, stand up or<br />

jokes at this session. Instead,you<br />

are encouraged to make yourself<br />

laugh at nothing at all for the<br />

purpose of relaxing.<br />

Reading to dogs<br />

Wednesday, 3.30-4.30pm<br />

The programme uses dogs<br />

who are the beloved pets of the<br />

city council animal management<br />

team. These animals have<br />

all been trained and tested for<br />

health, safety and temperament.<br />

EXPERIMENTAL: Science Alive! will be hosting a free, after school science programme<br />

at 3.30-4.30pm in the South Library on Monday and the Linwood Library on Friday. The<br />

programme will have fun science activities and new interesting topics each week with<br />

qualified educators leading children through interactive activities to stimulate interest in<br />

science. No bookings are required with programmes running during term time and suitable<br />

for children aged 5-10. A caregiver is required. ​<br />

listen attentively, do not judge,<br />

laugh or criticise and allow<br />

children to proceed at their own<br />

pace. Library staff and a dog<br />

handler will be present at all<br />

times to help facilitate the sessions.<br />
