JOHN PRICE as been the
police chief in the region for
the past 18 months and if my
intelligence is right he’s doing a
top job.
And very importantly he’s
liked by his troops.
Today on pages 8 and 9 reporter
Gabrielle Stuart catches
up with Price to find out how
it’s been in the hot seat since he
returned to Christchurch.
And as she finds, his open
door policy has very high foot
traffic.
Today Price outlines his
priorities from a policing and
crime prevention perspective,
and shares some war stories.
The Mastercard ad was a gem
of a promotion, you either like
it or hate it, but you watch it.
The little bloke is from
Christchurch and on pages
27-28 we put a number of questions
to him, and he returns
answers no holes barred.
In sport (page 46), Gordon
Findlater previews the national
women’s football final which
sees Canterbury United Pride
hold the region’s fortunes.
Archdeacon in the Christchurch Anglican Diocese. On
Joseph) settled at Purau, Lyttelton Harbour. On December
9, 1867, the Lyttelton railway tunnel opened (right), it was
the first in the world to be drilled through a volcano rim.
On December 10, 1981, the Government announced its
intention to preserve the Chief Post Office in Cathedral
Square. On the same day in 1989 Sunday trading began
in Christchurch. On December 11, 1979, stage one of the
