CHRISTMAS GROTTO 2016
Visit the Christmas Grotto
and journey through a magical
Christmas wonderland. There is
something for all ages to enjoy,
as well as a mix of displays and
scenes to view. During the week,
the grotto will be open from 9am-
3pm and on Friday, Saturday and
Sunday, it will be open 9am-9pm.
This year the organisers have
decided to wipe the entry fee so
enjoy the show free of charge.

SEARCH
Is that Santa in the shop trying to
decide which hat to wear? What

Santa Search is back and there
are many mischievous little
Santas hidden around the many
exhibitions. Try and find all of
the missing Santas by picking up

SUMMER OF FUN
These events are back for another
year, with an action packed
day planned for the St Albans
community. Start off the weekend
with a fun Friday night out.
There will be live music, a bouncy
castle, face-painting, craft and
other fun activities for all ages.
There will also be a secure area
for the pre-schoolers to enjoy. Go
and enjoy a free sausage sizzle and
relax on the lawn with a drink
and a picnic while the children
run around and play games.

TWILIGHT CHRISTMAS
MARKET
The Parish of Merivale St Albans
will hold a Twilight Christmas
Market to celebrate the silly
season. It will be followed by
community carols for all the
family to get involved in. This is
a free community event with a
barbecue and various stalls with
baking, produce, children’s gifts
and more on offer. There will also
be games for the children.

OUTDOOR CINEMA AT THE
ARTS CENTRE
As the nights get warmer and
longer, an outdoor cinema has
popped up with two movies
playing on Friday night. The
Muppet Christmas Carol will
play at 5.30pm for children and
Love Actually will play for adults
to enjoy at 8pm. Take something
to sit on and money for food and
drinks to enjoy during the show.

will hold the annual Christmas
parade and concert. Meet
Santa on the beach, watch a fun
community parade and shop
around the seaside market for
your Christmas gifts. Meanwhile,
Santa will meet the kids in his
grotto. There is a huge array of
arts, crafts, gifts and food, as well
as a bouncy castle for the kids and
free face-painting. The concert
will begin after the parade at
about 10.30am and Santa’s grotto
will open at approximately

JUBILATE SINGERS
The Jubilate Singers present
a Christmas celebration. The

be many classical pieces of music
played, along with the Spanish
song El Rorro. Five New Zealand
soloists will also perform with
