Cantabrians in need, who meet our criteria, can be offered treatment FREE of charge. Who can access our services? • People who have been turned down in writing for treatment by the DHB • People who do not have medical insurance nor the means to pay for treatment privately (this is means tested) What services do we provide? The types of services include: • General surgery (abdominal, rectal etc) • Colonoscopy • Vascular (severe varicose veins) • Gynaecology and women’s health • Upper limb orthopaedics • Oral surgery and dentistry (conditions apply) • Cataract surgery • Counselling services (self-referral) What do I need to do if I think I qualify for help from the Charity Hospital? Ask your GP or dentist to refer you to the Canterbury Charity Hospital. Although most GPs are aware of the referral process, you might want to take this article with you when you visit them. Please do not contact the hospital directly. Where can I get more information? Visit our website www.charityhospital.org.nz All services provided by the hospital are free of charge thanks to the generosity of our unpaid volunteer surgeons, nurses and supporters. The Charity Hospital does not receive any Government funding. They defeated Southbridge 81-33 in a dominant display on Saturday to finish on 20 points with a perfect five from five record. Greenpark put away Burnham 83-33 in their final match to finish in second (see photos). Their only defeat of the opening round come against Lincoln 51-57. Saturday results – Lincoln 81-33 Southbridge, Broadfield 60-47 Halswell RL, Greenpark 83-33 Burnham.
