A familiar face<br />
returns to the<br />
Richmond Club<br />
THAT’S right folks, Emma Palaamo has<br />
returned to the Richmond Club Bistro, and this<br />
time she is running it!<br />
Emma last worked at the Club when her<br />
parents Bev and Steve Palaamo were running<br />
the Bistro and Restaurant pre-EQ.<br />
Unsure of what she wanted to do when she<br />
left school Emma decided to attend university<br />
where she earned a degree in English and<br />
Psychology.<br />
“I’ve wondered if I’d ever use my degree, but I<br />
love being in the kitchen. Cooking’s in my blood.<br />
It’s what I’m used to,” said Emma.<br />
Largely trained by her father, Emma said she<br />
was nervous when she was initially offered<br />
running the Bistro.<br />
“My parents have such a good reputation and<br />
I don’t want to let Dad down. <strong>The</strong> reaction to my<br />
menu and cooking has been great, and regular<br />
members are very happy to see me back.”<br />
With her first few weeks spent gauging what<br />
diners wanted, Emma is confident she has<br />
streamlined the menu to provide a selection to<br />
satisfy everyone.<br />
“I’ve listened to what they want and have<br />
taken heed. by bringing back the old with new.<br />
I’m also doing blackboard specials and two<br />
course specials, as well as introducing a Kids’<br />
menu.”<br />
<strong>The</strong> Club Bistro is open Wednesday to Sunday<br />
for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner and is also<br />
available for private functions.<br />
