NZSS Clay
Target Shooting
Lincoln High School’s Clay Target team will be attending
the 2017 NZ Fish & Game North Island and New Zealand
Secondary Schools Clay Target Championships, which
will be conducted from the 30th of September to 2nd of
October and will be showcasing the best schoolboy and
schoolgirl competitors in the country.
The Lincoln High School team is well placed in a strongly
held 1st position in the Canterbury region, against 6 other
school teams. The Lincoln High School team has placed
1st in the DTL teams events in 4 out of the 5 current
competitions, with strong prospects of winning the team of
the year.
The skeet teams have also been resilient against the
competition with an increase in the number of teams
entered and the high scores achieved. Lincoln High School
has placed highly in the regional competitions in the skeet
events, winning a total of 3 out of 5 teams events.
Lincoln High School has a strong stance in the Clay Target
shooting arena, with the last two years the highest accolade
(National Aggregate High Gun) being
awarded to a Lincoln High School
student. This installs a degree of pride
in the current team members, which will
benefit them with the demanding task
of competing with the country’s best.
The team members, coach and
management would sincerely like to
thank all sponsors and supporters
for making this trip and future trips
possible.
