2017 is proving to be a stellar year for Boys’
Hockey at Lincoln High School. The team leads
the competition in its division and recently beat
Ashburton College in the annual exchange.
The team lacks the star players of yesteryear but
makes up for this by playing consistently as a
unit. Players range from Year 9 through to Year 13
with a range of skills and experience.
The team’s experienced coach, Brent Norton,
has focused on skills development and working
as a team on the field. Of note is its ability to
score goals this season through good finishing
in the circle, with few against. Fitness levels are
improving and it is pleasing to see the team finish
games strongly as the opposition starts to tire.
The team will travel to Oamaru this year for
Winter Tournament and will again compete for
the Coaches Cup. This tournament is always
keenly contested but the team is quietly
determined to do well this year.
