Discontinuance of a stockwater race<br />
The <strong>Selwyn</strong> District Council, in accordance with the special consultative<br />
procedure as outlined in the Local Government Act 2002 advises their intention<br />
to discontinue the following stock water races<br />
Ellesmere Scheme<br />
1. Closure of 3.6km of race through three property/owners on Tramway Road<br />
2. Closure of 3km of race through two property/owners on Leeston Dunsandel Road<br />
Malvern Scheme<br />
1. Closure of 4.8km of race through six property/owners on Horndon Street/<br />
Creyke Road<br />
2. Closure of 0.3km of race through one property/owners on Pitts Rd<br />
3. Closure of 3.7km of race through seven property/owners on Bluff Rd<br />
4. Closure of 2.1km of Race through four property/owners on Boultons Rd<br />
These closures are considered to be of low significance and do not alter the<br />
intended level of service of the overall water race schemes. Directly affected<br />
ratepayers have agreed to close these water races.<br />

received by council at any Council Service Centre during normal office hours<br />
or view on the council website www.selwyn.govt.nz and make a submission<br />
supporting or opposing the proposal. Any person may make a submission but a<br />
person, who is a trade competitor of the applicant, may do so only if that person is<br />
directly affected by an effect of the activity to which the application relates that<br />
(a) adversely affects the environment and;<br />
(b) does not relate to trade competition or the effects of trade competition.<br />
