Live Well & Be Happy
Florida Center for Hormones & Wellness offers life-changing treatments
Obviously, aging is a natural
process. Did you know that much
of aging is the body’s response to
hormonal decline? Shocking, isn’t it?
The body was made to mature into
a reproductive organism. Once that
season of life is complete, it will naturally
decline in hormones, and hormonal
decline is strongly associated
with and ultimately leads to a number
of diseases of aging. This is in
addition to the outward symptoms of
menopause and andropause (low-T).
Of course, staying active is part of
slowing the aging process; however,
bioidentical hormone replacement
can also reverse the toll time takes on
our bodies. Some older adults are
perfectly fine with the deterioration
of their youthful looks and tendencies.
But for those who want to age
more gracefully, Florida Center
for Hormones & Wellness
should be on your radar.
Bioidentical hormone replacement
therapy, a medically proven,
safe and extremely effective
treatment, can
restore hormonal levels.
Once restored, the aging
process can be slowed,
and the day-to-day, often
debilitating symptoms
of hormonal imbalance
can be reversed. When
hormones are restored to
their youthful levels, aging
is more graceful, healthy
and enjoyable. Balanced
hormones provide a full,
active, vital, vigorous,
healthy aging season.
Whereas the original
hormone therapy used synthetic
hormones to replace
those no longer regenerating
in the body, bioidentical
hormones are produced naturally.
Made from natural sources like plants,
bioidentical hormones work by mimicking
the body’s natural hormone
production.
“These bioidentical hormones will
not harm your body,” said Jody
Layne, chief operating officer at
Florida Center for Hormones &
Wellness. “They can only help. They
don’t stop your body from aging but
enhance optimal performance.”
The physician who oversees all
procedures at Florida Center for
Hormones & Wellness is John
Carrozzella, M.D., ABAARM,
FAARFM. He devotes his
practice to serving the needs
of patients with hormonal
deficiencies, sexual dysfunction,
nutritional imbalances,
autoimmune disorders and
a variety of cosmetic needs.
An orthopedic surgeon for
more than 25 years, Dr.
Carrozzella changed his
medical focus seven years
ago after a medical issue affected
his family.
Dr. Carrozzella’s wife had
serious preventative neck surgery
10 years ago. As she
recovered, her entire personality
and sense of well-being
changed within three days of
the operation. The diagnosis
for the 50-year-old woman
was nuclear onset menopause.
Menopausal changes usually take
place in women throughout a period
of months, but in this case, the patient
seemed to succumb to all the
symptoms overnight. After visiting a
series of doctors, the couple came
upon one who prescribed hormone
replacement therapy. It worked, and
Dr. Carrozzella decided to devote
the rest of his medical career to helping
women naturally optimize their
health as they age. Focusing his
interests on nontraditional medical
specialties, he obtained a master’s
degree in nutritional and metabolic
medicine from the University of South
Florida. He also became a diplomate
of the American Board of Anti-Aging
and Regenerative Medicine.
About 80 percent of women who
are patients at Florida Center for
Hormones and Wellness go there
for bioidentical hormone replacement
therapy. It can be administered
through creams, pills or a pellet inserted
under the skin.
The mission of the practice is to
“help patients feel refreshed, revitalized
and rejuvenated.” Once feeling
good is achieved, many women then
try some of the other looking-good
offerings at the center, which include
nonsurgical breast lifts, face-lifts and
treatments for hair loss.
Men also come to the center for
bioidentical hormone replacement
therapy as well as other wellness
and sexual health treatments. They
receive shots that kick start regeneration
of tissues, organs and blood
platelet replenishment. This procedure
is also available to women.
