One of the recent highlights was<br />

a visit by Deputy Mullins from the<br />

Orange County Sheriff’s Office.<br />

She stopped in to talk<br />

to the children about<br />

the role of police officers<br />

and their job to<br />

protect citizens. The<br />

kids were interested<br />

to see all the tools on<br />

Deputy Mullins’ belt<br />

of war and race for orphans<br />

are just some of<br />

the events that composed<br />

a whirlwind week at<br />

Holy Family Catholic<br />

School during Catholic<br />

School’s Week. The annual<br />

event celebrates<br />

Catholic school education<br />

across the country.<br />

This year’s theme was<br />

“Learn, Serve, Lead,<br />

Succeed.” The week was<br />

filled with events and surprises<br />

that nourished the<br />

body and soul. It began<br />

with the Holy Family’s<br />

annual open house,<br />

giving prospective families<br />

a behind-the-classroom-doors<br />

tour of the<br />

school.<br />

There was also a<br />

walkathon to raise<br />

money for the Orphans<br />

Rising Missions, field<br />

day, crazy hair and<br />

sock day, a talent show,<br />

career day, students vs.<br />

faculty volleyball game,<br />

and a volunteer breakfast,<br />

honoring all the<br />

people who make every<br />

event at HFCS possible.<br />

One of the most anticipated<br />

days of the week<br />

was when the eighthgraders<br />

“took over the<br />

school.” The teens prepared<br />

lessons for weeks<br />

in advance so they
