gardening without guesswork
Question:
Answer:
Autumn is a great time to plant bulbs like
daffodils, tulips and freesias. A beautiful burst
of Spring colour after the long days of winter
is welcomed in any garden, and definitely
brightens everyone’s spirits a little. The end
of daylight saving is a great time to plant
your bulbs because the ground temperature
is generally cooler, which is the ideal
environment for bulbs. The key to success
is ensuring you have prepared the soil, or
have chosen a top quality potting mix like our
Patio Plus if you are planting in pots. Bulbs
also like blood and bone if they need a nutrient
boost. This can be added to the soil. Need more
help with how to plant bulbs? We have a guide on
our website or ask our team for advice.
Your pre-planting checklist involves making sure you choose bulbs
that are suitable for our climate, and then making sure you plant
them in the right place in your garden. Some bulbs like the shade,
some like the sun. If you are unsure, ask at your local garden centre.
Organic Compost
Intelligro’s Organic Compost is made on our site, blended from
sustainable and natural products, with no green waste or soil added.
We carefully monitor our process to create this product and take pride
in the end result. It is also one of our most popular products!
Our Organic Compost is designed to improve the overall quality
of your soil. It does this in a number of ways:
Improves moisture retention, reducing water loss especially during
the warmer weather
Adds vital nutrients to the soil
Improves and stabilizes pH
Improves drainage and reduces erosion
Conditions the soil to create a healthier growing environment
Helps to create a more even soil temperature
All of these things help to create the best growing environment for
your plants. The great thing about compost is it will also work to
remove any pollutants that are already in your garden – pretty clever
really! Also, due to its organic properties, you can feel safe knowing
that there is nothing harmful in this product.
