throughout campus. First Year Seminars, Career <strong>and</strong> Life Planning, <strong>and</strong> Issues <strong>and</strong><br />

Office-building mock-ups have been used in teaching adults <strong>and</strong> at-risk high school<br />

students to visualize the interview <strong>and</strong> job search envir<strong>on</strong>ments. A modular <strong>of</strong>fice<br />

building can be c<strong>on</strong>structed using basic craft materials <strong>and</strong> be modularly designed to<br />

represent different companies <strong>and</strong> interview scenarios. The buildings are made al<strong>on</strong>g<br />

workshop themes <strong>and</strong> reinforce the learning objectives. A variety <strong>of</strong> miniature gaming<br />

figures support developing workshops al<strong>on</strong>g different themes: samurai for the Art <strong>of</strong><br />

Students are entering classrooms with a lot more in their backpacks than books.<br />

They are expected to sit in class <strong>and</strong> learn, score high <strong>on</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ardized tests, <strong>and</strong> plan<br />

their future career path -- at the same time that they try to navigate adolescence, peer<br />

pressure, gangs, home problems, <strong>and</strong> more. Schools must focus <strong>on</strong> students being<br />

healthy, both mind <strong>and</strong> body, in order to get students back <strong>on</strong> a successful track. This<br />

sessi<strong>on</strong> will discuss issues <strong>and</strong> c<strong>on</strong>duct a sensitivity training to help teachers, staff <strong>and</strong><br />

administrators underst<strong>and</strong> why students are failing <strong>and</strong> help with soluti<strong>on</strong>s. Repeats as<br />
