Phase I : Request For
Application & Selection
Time-line :3 months
Request For Application (RFA) process acknowledges that our PBL & PJBL
approach to learning, directed by competency & assessment requires field
experience in order to replace the teacher-centric, traditional and
dispersed professional development and educational systems composed
of internships, apprenticeships and course work graduation requirements.
However, standardized testing and the move towards common core
requires extensive sector consultation to ensure proficiency, standards &
competency throughout the designated industries within our
programmes. Therefore as part of RFA process, employers from 10
companies and 200 learners will select the duration and existing
professional development requirements they wish to replace with project
& problem-based learning.
Timeline :14 months

Phase II : Program
Implementation
Projects (3 months): PBL & interdisciplinary PJBL, conducted in the
makerspace requires an exhibition of personal, academic and workplace
standards of performance, peer-assessment, self-assessment &
formative assessment. After summative assessment/testing, students
can then graduate with an Skills Development Certificate NQFL 5 which
covers comprehensive workplace experience.
Advanced Diploma (10 months): PBL & interdisciplinary PJBL, conducted in
the workplace requires an exhibition of personal, academic and workplace
standards of performance, peer-assessment, self-assessment &
formative assessment. After summative assessment/testing, students
can then graduate with an HEQF Level 7 Advanced Diploma as well as

comprehensive workplace experience.
