FRC Community Outreach
March 2018:
Grading & Gravel at Harmon Field Show Office
One of the perks of being an FRC member is that a portion of your membership dues goes to
support our Community Outreach Program. A central part of the
mission of the Foothills Riding Club is to promote the understanding
and enjoyment of equestrian activities for our community. We
achieve this in a variety of ways, and most recently, the FRC
partnered with Hyder Construction Company to grade and spread
gravel around the Harmon Field show office. No one liked to slog
through the mud in white breeches to check in before the show, so
this project was proposed to help with the puddles that had
accumulated after such a rainy year!
Hyder did quite a bit of grading to improve the drainage around the
show office before
spreading gravel that
will help reduce the erosion around rings caused
by foot traffic. The work done will prevent the
mud from returning in the future as well. The
total cost of the project was around $1000.
Harmon Field manager Lewis Pack was very
pleased with the upgrades. This project not
only benefits the members of the Foothills
Riding Club, it will benefit everyone who uses
the facilities at Harmon Field. A huge thanks
to our board member and Community Outreach Chair, Hatsie Goodrich for putting this together!
