Lynnfield High School seniors
are newly-minted graduates
honored with scholarships
and awards that marked their
final farewell to high school.
The awards given to the
2018 graduating class were
classified information until
the big reveal, a proud moment
for parents, students,
and the Lynnfield Athletic
Association (LAA).
The Lynnfield High School
students’ hard work paid off as
students won scholarships for
academic, athletic and memorial
scholarships.
“We work really hard the LAA
board works so hard year long,
and to see it come to fruition at
the end to award kids money
is the most rewarding part of
LAA,” said Amy Nardone.
The winners of the LAA
scholarship include: Annabella
Agnoletti, Ryan Iapicca,
Peter Look, Cooper Marengi,
Katherine Mitchell, Jason
Ndansi, Mae Norton, Hayley
O’Brien, Juliana Passatempo
and Olivia Smyrnios.
“We like to give back,
that’s why we do it,” added
Nardone.
Parents, family members and
friends proudly cheered on as
each student went on stage to
receive the award.
“One hundred percent of
what we do goes back to the
kids whether it be the scholarships
or helping subsidize uniforms
or helping with something
the team needs, they can
always come to us. If we have
the funds we can help them,”
said Kerrianne Allain, “It’s
great to see all of what we do go
back to the kids.”
All the long hours and hard
work at the Snack Shack finally
paid off as the students accepted
their awards. With the big reveal
comes a final goodbye,
but the women of the LAA will
continue on into the next year

helping students afford the college
of their dreams.
In a statement, the LAA
said, “Congratulations to the
10 recipients of this year’s
$15,000 Lynnfield Athletic
Association Scholarship. We
are proud to recognize these
10 students for their embodiment
of athletic participation,
sportsmanship, effort, citizenship
and conduct. A repeated
theme in each of their essays
was how playing sports motivated
them to work harder in
the classroom, work towards
goals and created fast and
lasting friendships. Thank you
to the community of Lynnfield
for their generous support of
the Snack Shack and our 4th
of July Road Race which allows
us to recognize these
LHS Student Athletes.”
