The City of Tshwane is the single largest metropolitan municipality in South Africa. It is also a
progressive city that harmoniously blends its African roots with European traditions. It is indeed
a meeting place of many cultures. Tshwane has a diverse and rich natural, historical and cultural
heritage. Its warm and pleasant climate also makes it an ideal tourist destination all year round.
Tshwane – the capital city of South Africa – is renowned for its natural habitat that spirals
through its suburbs and intertwines its various city regions to form an ecological hub where
residents and visitors can enjoy open spaces and abundant wildlife. Our city has a lot to offer
residents and visitors alike. We are a city of possibilities where precedents for big things are set.
It is for this reason that South Africa will see many nations converge on Tshwane soil for the 2018
World Choir Games. We are excited to be the host of the largest choral gathering in the world,
as this is the first time the event will take place in Africa.
Tshwane itself also has a rich history of choral music, which makes this event so exciting for us.
