3. Jeugdkoor Waelrant<br />

The Waelrant Youth <strong>Choir</strong> was founded in 1968. During<br />

the last years the choir participated with great results<br />

in several festivals and competitions at home and<br />

abroad. The choir offers its members a good vocal<br />

training. All genres and styles are included in the<br />

program in order to broaden the youngsters‘ musical<br />

development as widely as possible. This includes<br />

Flemish contemporary choir music.<br />

4. Stellenbosch University <strong>Choir</strong><br />

Conductor: André van der Merwe<br />

Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa<br />

The Stellenbosch University <strong>Choir</strong> is comprised<br />

of students from various academic and cultural<br />

backgrounds. The Matie choir is the oldest and most<br />

celebrated choir in South Africa, being founded<br />

in 1936 and is currently ranked number 1 on the<br />

INTERKULTUR <strong>World</strong> Ranking List of the top 1000<br />

international choirs.<br />
