CHRISTOPHE
MACHET
Paris-based, London Royal College of Art
graduate Christophe Machet received plaudits
for The Pipeline Project furniture he showed
at the Alcova exhibition in Milan Design Week.
Against the backdrop of an old panettone
factory, he presented a range of chairs he’d
made from PVC sewage pipes. Designed to be
versatile, cheap and pragmatic, these stylish PVC
and wood chairs should last for decades.
touches of black colour.
STUDIOFAUBEL
Gregor Faubel presented
his first piece of furniture in
collaboration with the Italian
plastics manufacturer Serralunga
in 2008, founded StudioFaubel
in Munich in 2010, and this year
debuted his first metal lounge chair
design, manufactured by Müller
Möbelfabriktion, at IMM Cologne.
The Martini Lounge Chair features
a folded aluminium shell, inspired
by the characteristic shape of a
Zeppelin airship. It’s reportedly
super comfortable too!
