Carter’s surprise return
SELWYN TIMES
•From page 1
“I’m not sure if it’s an old habit
or some of mum’s good cooking
that I’m looking for.”
In Auckland on Friday, Carter
attended a TAG Heuer event at
St Paul’s College where he raised
$10,000 for the iSport foundation,
which he and former All Blacks
captain Richie McCaw founded.
Carter’s next career move will
see him move to Japan to start a
two-year contract with the Kobelco
Steelers later this year.
He will link up with some
familiar faces in Kobe, including
former Crusaders and All Blacks
teammate Andy Ellis.
“It will be good to connect with
him again and get that old nine-
10 partnership working again,”
Carter said.
“Wayne Smith [former Crusaders
and All Blacks coach] does
a bit of coaching there as well
so that was a big reason why I
decided to play there.”
