RACING ALTERNATOR<br />

MED’s racing alternator can output up to 60 amps from a<br />
compact body, to free up engine bay space and save<br />
weight, which is particularly desirable on a competition<br />
<strong>Mini</strong>. The unit is a direct replacement for the standard<br />
alternator but some simple rewiring is required. The<br />
alternator is designed to directly bolt to the standard<br />
mounts, unlike some units that are adapted from other<br />
vehicles to suit, making it more durable under strenuous<br />
conditions. MED also produces heavy-duty brackets and<br />
larger pulleys to suit.<br />

believe is the best available on the market. Why? Well, we’ve got to<br />
admit the material spec is impressive, as they use alloy steel that has<br />
been heat-treated to 75 tensile tonnes per square foot minimum and<br />
then finished in chemical black (part number C-AHT279A). <strong>Mini</strong><br />
Spares also offers a similar kit, but to an even higher spec for highlytuned<br />
