TL BOP<br />
The Cameron TL BOP product line is the result of an evolution of Cameron’s successful U,<br />
UII and T BOPs combined with custom features based on each customer’s specific requirements.<br />
All TL BOPs are based on a simplified design that eliminates the separate<br />
bonnet and intermediate flange design. The TL BOP features side ram removal resulting<br />
in a shorter BOP well-suited for rig designs with height constraints. Like all of<br />
Cameron’s BOPs, the TL includes hydraulically opening bonnets, forged body and a wide<br />
selection of rams to meet all applications. All TL BOPs feature:<br />
• Bonnet seal carrier eliminates the need for high make-up torque on bonnet studs<br />
and nuts.<br />
• Bonnet studs rather than bonnet bolts eliminate the need to make and break<br />
threads in the BOP body.<br />
• Side ram removal reduces stack height and simplifies ram change-out.<br />
• Access caps on the ram change pistons enable easier access and bonnet removal.<br />
• Most operating system seals can be replaced with the bonnet in the ram-change<br />
position without removing the bonnets because the operating cylinder and<br />
ram-change cylinders fit between the bonnet and end flange with tie-bolts<br />
holding the assembly together.<br />
• Piston area is large enough to shear all commonly used sizes and grades of drill<br />
pipe.<br />
• Wear pads are included on the bottom of all TL BOP rams.<br />
• Available in 13-5/8” 10,000 psi WP and 18-3/4” 5000, 10,000 and 15,000 psi WP<br />
sizes with many body configurations.<br />
TL Custom Features:<br />
• Choice of manual and hydro-mechanical locking devices, including manual lock<br />
screws, wedgelocks (5000 psi WP only), ST-Locks or RamLocks .<br />
• Choice of locking device operation/manual, semi-automatic or automatic<br />
operation.<br />
• Choice of several styles of bonnets for increased shearing capabilities such as:<br />
• Tandem Boosters to shear large, extra-heavy wall casing.<br />
• Super Shear bonnets fitted with non-sealing super shear rams for shearing drill<br />
collars and large casing.<br />
• Inconel inlays for critical sealing components.<br />
Due to the extensive variety of custom features, no TL BOP part numbers are included<br />
in this publication. Please refer to the operation and maintenance manual supplied<br />
with your TL BOP for specific replacement part numbers.<br />
