Here, There, and Everywhere: The Revolver Tour By Brant Worrell, Tours Co-Chair photos by Bill Orr If you like beer and Porsches, then the fourth Maverick Tour of 2018 was for you! Heck, even if you don’t like beer, this tour was for you! The “Here, There and Everywhere” Revolver Tour took place on Saturday, June 23, and ended at Revolver Brewing in Granbury. This particular tour had something for everybody: hills, valleys, turns, twists, long straightaways, country driving, city driving, great weather, good music, good food, and did I mention really good beer? The day started in Weatherford with 86 cars -- yes, I said 86 Porsches – on a June tour along with 156 occupants! The tour wound its way through the towns of Dennis, Allison, Morgan Hill, and Paluxy, to name a few, before arriving in Granbury. In between the beginning and end, we covered 87.4 miles, for a total of 7,516 miles driven by those 86 lucky Porschephiles. Helping herd all of us were nine excellent group leader drivers, who included Derrick Tate, Brant Worrell (me), Tom Gomer, Sam Bryant, Scott Garwood, Jay Lynch, Mark Pitarresi (Tours Co-Chair), Karl Poulsen, and Ed Martelle. Thank you all for your help safely guiding everyone to the end and without any tickets! A big thanks to Karen Poulsen for helping us get everyone signed in! Once drivers and occupants arrived at Revolver Brewing, they were treated to their own private parking area away from the white gravel of the standard parking lot, and things only got better from there! A $10 admission got you a logo pint glass, beer tastings (for those over 21, of course), live music, and a tour given by one of Revolver Brewing’s genius (their words not mine) brewers. The food was provided by Taco Guy. Good things were said about their awesome street tacos, chimichangas, and the like. If you were in the mood for German food, after a beer, that could be had down the road at Ketzler’s Schnitzel Haus and Biergarten. Overall, the fourth Maverick Tour of 2018 brought out a lot of Porsches and a lot of smiles on those who participated. Some tour veterans even went so far as to say this was their favorite tour ever, with the great mix of roads and our fun destination. The next Maverick Tour is Sunday, September 23, and will end at MotorSport Ranch in Cresson, TX. It is our annual charity drive, so stay tuned for more details to follow soon. Mark and I hope to see you all there in September to support a great cause! 29
